Our team is skilled in handling complex real estate transactions and navigating the legal intricacies that arise in large-scale public sector projects, particularly those involving public-private partnerships (PPPs), mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration.

For transport projects, we advise on the legal aspects of infrastructure development, including land acquisition, planning, procurement, and financing. We have significant experience working with public authorities on transportation projects ranging from automotive and rail to aviation, helping to ensure that projects comply with regulatory frameworks and are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

In the healthcare sector, we support our clients on matters related to real estate, financing, procurement, and compliance with healthcare regulations. From the development of new medical facilities to the management of existing healthcare infrastructure, our team helps navigate the complex legal requirements in this highly regulated industry.

For the education sector, we assist schools, universities, and other educational institutions with real estate transactions, funding arrangements, and the development of campus facilities. We help ensure that education projects meet regulatory standards, are delivered on time, and are financially viable.

Relevant experience

• NHS – Planning work for the NHS for new (or extensions to) hospitals in e.g. Bath, Plymouth, Swindon, Cheltenham and Lymington and for changes of use where hospitals/their land are surplus to requirements.
• Anglo Suisse Investments – Acting on the sale of two prime central London freehold buildings, 95 and 97 Harley Street, W1, (each let on a long lease guaranteed by HCA International) to Aberdeen Standard Investments. Both properties were recently refurbished to provide state-of-the-art facilities and cancer treatments at the cutting edge of medicine. The properties are on the western side of Harley Street, surrounded by some of the world’s most prestigious medical practices, including The Harley Street Clinic, The London Clinic and The Heart Hospital.
• Legal & General – Acting for L&G LPI fund on the purchase of a portfolio of 37 supported living care homes from, and to be leased back to, Cosmopolitan Housing Association.
• City University – We are advising City University on their real estate/ construction procurement arrangements, including for student accommodation.
• Maslow Capital – We act for Maslow Capital on the development financing of a 180 unit PBSA development in London (consisting of studios, en-suites and twin-bed rooms and amenities such as reception, managers office with parcel storage, gym, screening room, study lounge, laundry and social area) of c.62,000 sq. ft.
• abrdn – We advised abrdn on a £25.5m acquisition by way of forward-funding of a 227-bed student accommodation development in Exeter. The scheme is well located, situated adjacent to the University of Exeter’s main campus.
• Legal & General Assurance (Pensions Management) – Advising on the sale of a site at Widnes, occupied by Eddie Stobart, for over £30m to Widnes PropCo Limited, for the benefit of Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
• LondonMetric – Advising on the sale of 5 car show rooms in Clifton Moorgate, York to Arnold Clark.
• Gama Aviation Limited – Advising Gama Aviation Limited in relation to new leases of three hangers at Oxford Airport.
